In August the Chehalis team took a road trip down to see the Salem team. Chris and Ryan toured us around the breeding facilities, educating everyone on the process of developing new mint hybrids including cross pollination, selection, distillation and evaluation. This year looked a bit different as there weren’t hundreds of single plants in the field but even those who had visited before had something new to learn. There were some left over treats to enjoy too (blueberries)! We ended our trip by visiting full scale hybrid mint fields at a close by supplier. For me, visiting Chris and Ryan is always a treat (mostly because of the food truck 😉)
